This week’s class was short and
focused on media literacy. Due to the technical difficulties with the projector
we could not listen to the two remaining myth presentations, but we were able
to dive into media literacy and view Dr. Wexler’s PPT on our individual
computers. “The medium is the message”
served as the guiding factor in the discussion of media and remediation; I
particularly enjoyed our discussion on immediacy and hypermediacy and the various
goals associated with each, which definitely allowed me to critically analyze the style of visual
representations in our daily lives.
I hope we can finish our remaining presentations
today and fully get into “media literacy” mode before our perfectly aligned two
weeks off.
